The Schuylkill River Heritage Area, in partnership with Sly Fox Brewery, will celebrate the Earth Day return of SRT Ale with a series of cleanups along the Schuylkill River Trail. The cleanups will coincide with the SRT Spreekend, a celebration of the Schuylkill River Trail and Water Trail. The SPREEkend will feature a series of trail cleanups and recreational events that include a group kayak paddle, a 50K relay race and a Spreekend music festival at Lock 60 of the Schuylkill Canal.
Since a portion of the proceeds from the new beer will support the Schuylkill River Heritage Area to promote, improve and maintain the Schuylkill River Trail, we want to celebrate by holding several trail cleanups.
The cleanups for this year's SRT Spreekend are as followed:
- Friday April 21(5-7 p.m.) Pottstown Riverfront and Manatawny Creek, meet at 140 College Dr., Pottstown
- Saturday April 22(10-12 p.m.) Schuylkill River Trail, Thun Section, Douglassville, in Berks County (Exact location TBD)
- Saturday April 22(12-2 p.m.)Schuylkill Canal Park Lock 60
All Trail Cleanup volunteers will get a free Spreekend T-shirt; all volunteers aged 21 and older will be given one free SRT Ale voucher for the Spreekend festival.
