Neshaminy Creek Greenway: Tyler State Park Trails

Neshaminy Creek Greenway: Tyler State Park Trails

Share Trail:

Tyler State Park, located in Newtown, PA, covers over 1,700 acres on the grounds of an old farm in a charming woodland setting. The park features a network of interconnected trails, including 10.5 miles of paved trails open to cyclists, walkers and in-line skaters and 4 miles of hiking trails. Horseback riders can enjoy over 9 miles of bridle paths that run alongside the scenic Neshaminy Creek, which flows through the property. In winter cross-country skiing is allowed, and in warmer months there are opportunities for fishing and canoeing along the creek.

The trails network through the park is well maintained, over eight feet wide, and feature occasional picnic tables for rest stops. Within the park it is possible to see remains of the old farm in the form of original stone buildings that date back to the early 18th century, as well as a replica of a covered bridge. This is hilly terrain, however, so note that trails on the west side of the creek in particular can have some steep inclines. In addition to trails, the park offers disc golf, hosts events at its Center for the Arts, and offers environmental education programs.

From the park trails it is not currently possible to connect to the Circuit network but some of the park trails will become part of the Neshaminy Greenway. For more information about Tyler State Park Trails, see the park’s website.
