Join Riverfront North Partnership and the City of Philadelphia groundbreaking for the Robert A. Borski Jr. Park in Bridesburg.
The much-anticipated park will transform a former concrete factory into a 10-acre public park with river views, a multi-use lawn, and an upland meadow, restroom, and parking. It is the last of the eight planned parks on the North Delaware River Greenway. The park is owned and managed by Philadelphia Parks and Recreation and is expected to be open in 2025.
Joining the celebration will be Mayor Jim Kenney; Interim Parks and Recreation Commissioner Orlando Rendon; Deputy Streets Commissioner Richard Montanez; Councilmember Mike Driscoll; representatives from the Bridesburg Community Action Alliance; and more to be confirmed!
The event will be held at the park site. Free street parking is available on Delaware Avenue and Orthodox Street. It is rain or shine.
The Robert A. Borski, Jr. Park is part of the 11-mile greenway that Riverfront North Partnership helps to create, activate and steward with the City of Philadelphia. The park is a trailhead for the regional Circuit Trails and national East Coast Greenway networks.
This project has been brought to fruition by the City of Philadelphia; Philadelphia Department of Parks and Recreation; PA Commonwealth Financing Authority; PA Department of Community & Economic Development; PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources; PA Department of Transportation; the McLean Contributionship; National Fish & Wildlife Foundation; and the William Penn Foundation.
