Gear up to join us on Saturday, April 26, for Celebrate Trails Day!

Celebrate Trails Day is an annual springtime celebration of America’s trails that takes place on the fourth Saturday of April. Hosted by our partners at Rails to Trails Conservancy, it’s a day dedicated to inviting everyone outside to experience the paths that connect people, places and nature. With over 415-miles of multi-use trails in the Greater Philadelphia and southern New Jersey region, there are tons of opportunities for people to walk, bike and enjoy the Circuit Trails network on Celebrate Trails Day—and every other day!

We’ve seen great progress #OnTheCircuit in the last couple of years, and it’s worth highlighting how far we’ve come while shining a light on the actions we can take to keep moving forward. In 2024, we secured major funding wins for future development of the Circuit Trails — $139.1 million to be exact—but now, questions loom around the status of this federal funding. As the nation and our region come together to celebrate the trails we love, it is vital for us to also recognize the positive impact trails can have on our health, economy and communities. Trails are not just paths to get from one place to another, they are also lifelines to our communities.

Be a part of the celebration to experience the joy of trails and to show appreciation for the ways they make our lives better! Members of the Circuit Trails Coalition are hosting fun filled Celebrate Trails Day activities across the region, including bike rides, ceremonies, live paintings and much more. If you’re looking to advocate for trails before, on and beyond April 26, take action today! Send a letter to local officials in your county to underscore the value of trail funding within the Circuit Trails network.

Not sure where to get in on the action this Celebrate Trails Day? We’ve gathered a list of events happening #OnTheCircuit. As you celebrate, don’t forget to capture the moment and share with us on Facebook, X, Instagram and TikTok using the hashtag #OnTheCircuit.
