It’s officially spring, which means you can expect warmer weather, longer evenings and nature in full bloom. Spring forward–literally! Add in some more time outside and make a habit of getting active on the trail. With over 415 miles of multi-use trails in the area, the Circuit Trails network is the perfect place to run, walk, bike or stroll to release stress from the workday or as a weekend wellness activity.  

Locate a trail in the Greater Philadelphia or southern New Jersey region to explore. Check out some of these scenic paths: 

Delaware & Lehigh Trail (D&L Trail)

This relatively flat terrain has wetlands, meadows and forests. Overlooking the Delaware River, the D&L Trail is a great location to watch the sunset or spend time with your family, all while getting in your steps! 

Cooper River Trail

This paved 3.7-mile trail in Camden County has many recreational amenities to enjoy, including the Camden County Boathouse and cafes and restaurants in Haddonfield and Collingswood. Visitors have access to the water to kayak or sail, or can pack a picnic to eat along the Cooper River. The trail is a loop, which makes it a great place for longer training sessions. 

Perkiomen Trail

This trail is sure to make you feel Perky! The 20-mile route passes through wooded areas, town centers, suburban neighborhoods and parks along the Perkiomen Creek. Grab a friend to hike, cycle or go for a reenergizing walk along the peaceful path, and enjoy the vibrant colors of changing landscape along the way. 

Pennypack Trail

Traveling alongside the Pennypack Creek, this trail provides an immersive experience in nature. It’s the perfect destination for many outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, running and birdwatching. The trail passes through Pennypack Park, which is a great spot for a picnic, observing nature, playing sports or fishing.
