Your Comments Can Unlock Major Circuit Trails Funding
Authored By: The Circuit Trails | August 14, 2025

Trails aren’t just paths—they’re connectors. They link neighborhoods, counties and even states. They make it safer to walk or bike to school or work. And right now, we have two massive opportunities to expand the Circuit Trails in New Jersey and across the Greater Philadelphia region.
The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) is making decisions that will determine how transportation funding is spent for years to come — and your voice is key to unlocking this potential.
DVRPC has opened the public comment period for two game-changing draft plans and will be accepting comments until Aug. 20, 2025 at 5 p.m.:
- Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for New Jersey
This plan is a big deal. The TIP sets the region’s federally funded transportation priorities, and the current draft includes $90.88 million to advance four New Jersey Circuit Trails: the Rancocas Creek Greenway, the Glassboro-Elk Trail, the Camden County LINK Trail, and the Johnson Trolley Trail. That’s more than 40 miles of new Circuit Trails—a major leap forward for our network. - Connections 2050 Long-Range Plan Update for Greater Philadelphia
Updated every four years, this plan guides how federal transportation dollars are spent across the region. The current draft fully funds and prioritizes the Circuit Trails Network—a huge milestone that will make it safer and easier than ever to walk, bike, be active outside and get where you need to be and want to go.
Comments will be accepted through Aug. 20, 2025 at 5 p.m.
