Now connecting 56th & Lindburgh, Bartram’s Garden, and the Newkirk Monument at what will be the entry point of the soon to be constructed Schuylkill River Swing Bridge, this short trail segment is packed with activities for the visitor. Community events are held at the newly constructed pavilion that offers lovely views of Center City, framed by the river. Bartram’s Garden is also a host to a substantial urban farm and orchard, which the trail runs directly through. The Gardens themselves offer substantial opportunities (through programming or DIY trips) for birdwatching, tree idendification, picnicing, free boating events on Saturdays in the summer, theater and cultural events, weddings, and more.
