Tidal Schuylkill River Trail

Tidal Schuylkill River Trail

Share Trail:

The Tidal Schuylkill Trail branded as the Schuylkill Banks is the southernmost eight miles of the Schuylkill running below the Fairmount Dam through the heart of Philadelphia.

Grays Ferry Crescent

The Grays Ferry Crescent Trail segment wraps around the east side of the Schuylkill from 34th Street to Wharton Street behind the former DuPont Marshall Labs, a Waste Management facility, and a FedEx distribution center. Future connections will be made to the Bartram’s Mile via a swing bridge.

Bartram’s Mile

Now connecting 56th & Lindbergh, Bartram’s Garden, and the Newkirk Monument at what will be the entry point of the soon to be constructed Schuylkill River Swing Bridge, this short trail segment is packed with activities for the visitor. Community events are held at the newly constructed pavilion that offers lovely views of Center City, framed by the river. Bartram’s Garden is also a host to a substantial urban farm and orchard, which the trail runs directly through. The Gardens themselves offer substantial opportunities (through programming or DIY trips) for birdwatching, tree identification, picnicking, free boating events on Saturdays in the summer, theater and cultural events, weddings, and more.
