Summer invites us outdoors to enjoy her gifts! What do you notice? The joy of birdsong, the scent of fresh rain, the feel of the earth beneath your feet? Do you want to learn how to become more intentional about your observations?

This program invites you to slow down and tune into the richness of the natural world, igniting your senses in ways that foster a deeper connection to Mother Earth. We’ll have fun as we take time to notice the small natural details that spark delight. Whether you’re an experienced artist or a beginner or someone who’s always enjoyed spending time in nature, this program will help you become more attuned to the beauty and complexity of the natural world.

We will explore how to strengthen your observational skills and creative writing techniques to complement your visual art. For those who are interested, we’ll offer info on how to build a personalized nature journal to capture your experiences and reflections.

Bring your playful curiosity and a tool(s) of choice—for example, a camera; a writing pen and paper; or your favorite medium (paintbrush, drawing pencils/paper/ kneaded eraser etc.). We encourage you to bring something to sit on. This program will be led by FOW Trail Ambassadors Jane Klein, Stan Kozakowski, Stephanie Stein, and Jean McWilliams, and is for adults ages 18+.

“When we see with clear eyes, we know that we are surrounded by beauty. Let yourself fall in love with your life by paying attention.” – John Muir Laws
