Authored By: Circuit Trails Coalition | May 29, 2026
Trails are more than just a path from one place to another, they are gateways to discovery. With every mile, there are local favorites, scenic stops, and unexpected experiences waiting to be explored.
The Circuit Trails, a growing network of 500 miles of complete or in-progress multi-use trails across nine counties in Greater Philadelphia and southern New Jersey, connects communities to hidden gems of all kinds—from breweries and coffee shops to parks, public art, museums, and waterfront destinations.
Wherever you’re looking to go, trails can get you there.

Art is all around, especially on the Circuit Trails. One of the many art installations to check out is “Water Under the Bridge” on the Manayunk Towpath, which is part of the Schuylkill River Trail. The piece, created by muralist Paul Santoleri and mosaic artist Beth Clevenstine, features colorful glass pieces on the Fountain Street Steps and a painted mural under the overpass connecting the Manayunk Canal Towpath and the Schuylkill River together.
