It’s Coming! Opening Day for Trails 2018
Authored By: The Circuit Trails | March 16, 2018
It’s that time of year again!
Days are getting longer, we are thawing out from winter, and spring is just waiting around the corner (really, it is!), which means Opening Day for Trails will be here soon, too.
Save the date! On Saturday, Apr. 7, 2018, outdoor enthusiasts and trail lovers nationwide will kick-off trail season as part of Rails-to-Trails Conservancy’s (RTC) sixth annual Opening Day for Trails.
On the Circuit, we will celebrate our favorite day of the year with events throughout the nine-county region in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. In the coming days and weeks, we will share more about where you can celebrate in your area – from 5ks to history walks to spring cleanups and even a pop-up rail-with-trail fair, there will be something for every trail fan to enjoy!
Because trails connect us to the region’s waterways, member organizations of the Alliance for Watershed Education, a network of 23 environmental centers on and around the Circuit that are focused on watershed education and conservation, will also be part of Opening Day festivities.
Beyond Opening Day, you can be sure that the 2018 spring trail season will be jam-packed with events, activities, and challenges to encourage you to experience all that the Circuit Trails can connect you to across our region. To stay in the know on all of the fun, be sure to frequent our events page for plenty of chances to connect #onthecircuit!
We can’t wait for Opening Day – will you be celebrating with us? Let us know on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter using #RTCOpeningDay and #onthecircuit.
