‘Tis the season to spend time with family and friends – so why not spend that time #onthecircuit! This holiday season there are countless events and activities happening around and on the trails #onthecircuit. To help you get into the holiday spirit, we’ve made a list (and checked it twice) of seven spirited holiday events along the trails that will have you feeling holly and jolly in no time!

Holiday Lights Ride with the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia
When: Thursday, December 12 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
See the lights and the the sights by bike with this festive family outing. Break out your best bike decorations to ride through the city experiencing the illuminated houses in the area. RSVP here to join in the annual ride.
Princeton Symphony Orchestra Holiday Pops Concert
When: Saturday, December 14 at 3 p.m.
Let the sounds of the holidays fill your soul. Enjoy the Princeton Symphony Orchestra Holiday Pops Concert an annual tradition at the Richardson Auditorium at Princeton University just off the D&R Canal Trail #onthecircuit! This cheerful concert features tap-dancing toy soldiers and beautiful seasonal music capped by a festive carol sing-along led by the Princeton High School Choir.

Woodland Santa and Bird Feeder Make and Take
When: Saturday, December 14 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Still need to get a present for the bird-lover in your life? Spend a spirited morning at the Cobbs Creek Community Environmental Center #onthecircuit creating a bird feeder out of all natural materials. Top of your experience with a visit from Woodland Santa!
Caroling through the Galleries at the Philadelphia Museum of Art
When: Sunday, December 15 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
If you’re a frequent Schuylkill River Trail traveler, hop off the trail behind the Philadelphia Museum of Art to experience the many merry masterpieces in the museum. As part of their Holidays at the Museum program series, the Pennsylvania Girlchoir, led by Ya-Jhu Yang, will perform a selection of traditional carols through the galleries. On Sunday, purchase a regular admission to the museum to enjoy the festivities.

Christmas Underwater at the Adventure Aquarium
When: Open now through December 30
Have you ever seen Santa is a swimsuit? What about a scuba suit? The Adventure Aquarium along the Ulysses Wiggins Waterfront Park Promenade #onthecircuit invites you to experience Christmas Underwater with Scuba Santa swimming in Ocean Realm, the World’s Tallest and Smallest Underwater Christmas trees and magical indoor snow-like flurries.
Franklin Square Holiday Festival
When: Open now through December 31
If holiday lights are the highlight of the season for you, then the Franklin Square Holiday Festival is the perfect place for you to visit! Located just off the Ben Franklin Bridge Pedestrian Walkway #onthecircuit, the Franklin Square comes alive in the wintertime. The spectacular Electrical Spectacle light show presents more than 80,000 twinkling lights to a jolly holiday soundtrack to light up the night, but that’s not all! Franklin Square is a great place to finish up your holiday shopping and snack on delicious treats!

Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest at the Delaware River Waterfront
When: Open now through March 8
Nothing says winter wonderland quite like an Olympic-sized ice skating rink on the waterfront, a ski chalet-style lodge, cozy fire pits and a majestically lit holiday tree and winter garden. Skate into the season at the Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest just off the Delaware River Trail.
