Third Annual Fish Fest Returns on Saturday, June 1

Tucked behind a couple of warehouses, the wrought iron fence of the Frankford Arsenal and I95 construction is a hidden gem identified recently by the Philadelphia Inquirer as a prime spot for fishing. The Frankford Boat Launch is a 10-acre riverfront park along the Delaware River and serves as one of three free public boat launches in Philadelphia; a peaceful spot to take in river and bridge views, and the trailhead for the K&T Trail, a 1.75-mile segment of the Circuit Trails network.
Riverfront North Partnership is committed to connecting people back to their river, so they can do the things they love to do outdoors—whether that’s walking, cycling, fishing or just relaxing. In efforts to welcome the community to the waterfront, Riverfront North is partnering with TTF Watershed Partnership to present the third annual Fish Fest at the Frankford Boat Launch on June 1 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Fish Fest is a free, family-fun afternoon focused on all things fish. Mid Atlantic Youth Anglers and the PA Fish and Boat Commission will provide fishing lessons for all ages to enjoy. This year, Fish Fest falls on National Trails Day and to celebrate Independence Youth Cycling will host “skills and drills” plus group trail rides along the K&T Trail. Equipment for both activities will be provided at no cost, and you are welcome to bring your own too!
Additional activities include art crafts with the Tacony LAB, nature activities with TTF and a native plant sale (cash or credit accepted) from the Land Health Institute. Partners such as My Philly Waterfront, DRBC, and Circuit Trails will be on-site for community members to learn more about the Delaware Riverfront and public spaces.
Thank you to Rep. Joe Hohenstein, Councilmember Mike Driscoll, and Philadelphia Parks and Recreation for your support of Fish Fest.
Fish Fest is rain or shine (canceling only for thunderstorms). Register here to get updates about the event or contact gina@riverfrontnorth.org with any questions. We hope to see you there!
