Tricks, Treats and Trails!

No tricks here, just fun ways to treat yourself this fall season #OnTheCircuit. With the fall season in full swing and Halloween just around the corner, many Circuit Trails Coalition Members have prepared frightful and festive events for you to enjoy with family and friends along the trails.

We’ve put together a quick list of autumnal activities that are sure to “leaf” you wanting to spend more time #OnTheCircuit.

Trail and Treat on the LHT

When: October 23

The Lawrence Hopewell Trail hosts its Annual Trail and Treat Bike Ride on October 23, a celebration of the Halloween spirit for families with children ages 12 and under. The event includes face painting, Halloween crafts, and live music, followed by two rides on the LHT. Costumes and bike decorating are encouraged in celebration of the Halloween theme!

Halloween Fun and Outdoor Movie – Hocus Pocus

When: October 25

Time to get spooky at Glen Foerd! Join Riverfront North for a night of family fun with pumpkin painting starting at 6 p.m. Hocus Pocus will begin playing around 7 p.m. Drinks will be available for purchase and food from Smoke Break BBQ will be available for purchase. Costumes are optional!

Halloween Hikes & Hayrides

When: October 28

Looking for spooktacular mystery-filled hikes, friendly costumed critters, nature-inspired crafts and activities, and hayrides through our magical moonlit forest? Look no further than the Halloween Hikes & Hayrides at the Schuylkill Center.

Roast s’mores by the campfire, delight in snacks from local food trucks, and grab a seat for an after-dark Halloween-themed movie on the lawn!

Harvest Festival

When: October 29

On Oct. 29, join the 6th Annual North Camden Community Gardens Harvest Fest! The event will include pumpkin picking, bean games, face painting, fresh produce and more! It will also offer an education on reducing social ills like blighted lots, understanding e-waste, and understanding how to properly recycle.

Fall Foliage Tour at Laurel Hill West

When: October 30

Join Laurel Hill Cemetery Arboretum Manager, Aaron Greenberg, on a brisk autumn walk through the peak fall colors of some of the great trees of Laurel Hill West. From the dazzling reds of our sugar maple allée to the yellows and orange of sweet gum and hickory, fall is a beautiful time to explore the tree collection!

CineSPEAK presents: Bill Gunn’s ‘Ganja and Hess’ at Bartram’s Garden

When: October 30

Catch a special outdoor presentation of experimental horror film “Ganja & Hess” at Bartram’s Garden the day before Halloween to really get in the spooky spirit. The event is BYO seating, beverages, and snacks. Movie concessions will also be available for purchase. Costumes are encouraged!
