Celebrate Earth Day at the Phoenix Festival! A free, fun day to celebrate the Earth through Art. Event features: Live performance by local artist NOELY, poetry readings by Kipp HS + Mighty Writers, Lunch provided by Cathedral Kitchen, and Earth Day activities (kites, live animals, etc.) provided by the Center for Aquatic Sciences. The Phoenix Festival is comprised of two monumental 22-feet tall sculptures out of bamboo, decorated with colorful recycled objects; it was created in 2020 by The Myth Makers. The artists worked with Camden educators and neighbors to create specific components the Festival and help with installation. A series of welcoming pathways will connect the sculptures and the Gathering Place into a playful park setting. The Myth Makers are coming back to Camden to rejuvenate the site along with local artist group “Femme.men.arts.” The Subaru foundation of America is supporting this event by improving the landscaping on site.
