Join Fairmount Park Conservancy and astronomer/educator Buddy Muhler for a 1.5-mile guided moonwalk and telescope observation in West Fairmount Park.

We’ll start by using the moonlight to guide us on a hike of the historic Trolley Trail, which roughly follows the route of the old Fairmount Park Trolley that operated from 1896-1946. Learn about the history of the trail and the nocturnal animals that call the park home.

Next, we’ll turn our attention to the sky with a guided moon and planet observation. Each attendee will have the chance to view the moon through a high-powered telescope and learn about lunar cycles, surface features, and other astronomical wonders of the night sky.
