The Youth Development United and the 9th St Youth & Community Center will host a Party in the Park and ribbon-cutting ceremony for Eyre Park’s new bicycle maintenance station.

Please join Youth Development United and the 9th St Youth & Community Center for a Party in the Park and the 12pm ribbon cutting of Eyre Park’s new bicycle maintenance station on April 26, 2025, in honor of Celebrate Trails Day!

Hosted on the fourth Saturday of April each year, Celebrate Trails Day is an annual spring celebration of America’s trails. Started by Rails to Trails Conservancy in 2013, the celebration encourages people across the country to get outside and enjoy the nation’s exceptional trails and trail systems.

Free lunch and family-friendly activities throughout beautiful Eyre Park will be available for all participants on April 26, 2025.

About the 12pm Ribbon-Cutting

To date, YDU has given away over 350 bicycles at events in Eyre Park and other Chester area locations. This initiative was made possible by a grant from The Pennsylvania Environmental Council and the Circuit Trails Coalition.

Through an additional fundraiser supported by The Foundation for Delaware County’s Associates Board, the Riverfront Alliance of Delaware County and a number of generous individuals, YDU has now purchased a Dero Fix-It Station for convenient self-maintenance of those bikes. The maintenance station will be freely available for all users of Eyre Park after the April 26th ribbon-cutting. All are welcome to celebrate the installation and to enjoy the park during daylight hours anytime.
