STRUBLE TRAIL

Chester County’s Struble Trail is an oasis that is the perfect getaway spot for a bit of serenity. With plenty of tall trees along the 2.6 mile route, you’re sure to stay cool and calm while you travel the trail. The trail begins right near the downtown section of the pleasant borough of Downingtown right off Norwood Road. Traveling north, the trail cuts through pleasant wooded areas, a pristine setting in this rural section of southeastern Pennsylvania. Pack a picnic will all of Mom’s favorite foods to make her day on the trails extra special!

PEACE VALLEY PARK HIKE AND BIKE TRAIL

What place could be more peaceful than a trail with the name peace in it? The scenic 4-mile Peace Valley Park Hike and Bike Trail sure lives up to its name. Along the shores of the beautiful Lake Galena, the trail travels through woodlands and meadows on a route that has many recreation opportunities to get the whole family involved. From birding to fishing to boating, there is enough activities to keep the Mother’s Day celebration going all day long.

DELAWARE & RARITAN CANAL STATE PARK TRAIL (D&R)

Part of the East Coast Greenway, the 69-mile Delaware & Raritan Canal State Park Trail stretches from New Brunswick to Trenton, and the Feeder Canal, which follows the Delaware River from Trenton to Frenchtown. The route is charismatic with scenery including quaint wooden bridges, 19th century structures, remnants of locks, and stone-arched culverts. Make Mother’s Day into a weekend adventure by exploring this expansive trail over two-days – there are plenty of charming old inns and B&B’s you can stay in along the way.

MANAYUNK BRIDGE TRAIL

Every mom is different, and so are their ideas of what makes something relaxing – for some, it’s a walk in the woods… for others, it’s shopping! If your mom is a shopper, take her out for a quick stroll on the .4 mile long Manayunk Bridge Trail on your way to Main Street – a hub for local and unique shopping and dining opportunities. If you mom is both a nature lover and a shopper, you’ve hit the jackpot! The Manayunk Bridge trail connects to both the popular Schuylkill River Trail and the colorful Cynwyd Heritage Trail.
