In 2023, 8.24 miles were added to the Circuit Trails network in the Greater Philadelphia and South Jersey areas. As of right now, there are a total of 396 miles of Circuit Trails completed with nearly 45 miles that are fully funded and in the works. There are only 60 miles left to reach the Circuit Trails Coalition’s interim goal of reaching 500 miles by 2025.
In 2023, the network was awarded nearly $42 million in federal, state and local funding for 19 trail projects region wide. So far in 2024, the Circuit was awarded an additional $13 million toward 11 trail projects to keep the momentum rolling to reach more fully funded miles of trails that are entering their design or construction phases. When complete, the Circuit Trails will consist of 850+ miles by 2040. As advocates for the network and members of the Circuit Trails Coalition continue to celebrate projects awarded funding throughout the region, the Coalition continues to push for their interim goal of 500 miles of completed trails by 2025. Read the 2023 Circuit Trails Annual Report to learn more about the progress made over the last year and what’s on the horizon.
